Arkansas State Police: Conway man killed in Friday morning Yell County crash at Dardanelle

A 48-year old Conway man is dead and an unidentified minor was taken to a local hospital after an accident Friday morning accident in Yell County, according to the Arkansas State Police.


Authorities say Jason P. Hagood from Conway, was killed at approximately 9:15 a.m. Friday at the intersection of State Highway 27 and Oak Grove Road in Dardanelle.


According to preliminary reports, a 2018 Chevy Silverado, driven by the minor, was traveling southbound on State Highway 27 when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2023 Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound.


The unidentified minor was transported to St. Masry's Hospital and treated for unspecified injuries.


ASP officer Brandon Bird, who investigated the accident, noted the weather conditions were reported as clear with dry roadways at the time of the crash.
