Investigating trooper officer Louis Hardy of th Pope County Sheriff's Office reported the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the accident. Officials said the delay in the reporting of the accident to the Arkansas Department of Safety stemmed from pending notification of next pf kin and other factors.

The report failed to indicate the name of the driver of the Dodge Ram, who remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
