Boone county criminal investigator dismantles retail to pawn shop theft operation Harrison

Boone County Criminal Investigations, led by Cpl. Anthony Barber, has successfully dismantled a significant retail theft operation involving two Harrison residents.

The investigation began when Cpl. Barber detected a series of suspicious pawn transactions. Records revealed that Dakota Felan, 29, and Jazmine Cope, 30, had conducted over $50,000 in pawn transactions over the past two years, primarily involving new power tools.

Collaborating with asset protection teams at Home Depot, Tractor Supply, and Wal-Mart, Cpl. Barber observed multiple store thefts. The stolen tools were then pawned at local businesses.

With the assistance of the Harrison Police, Branson Police, and Arkansas Probation and Parole, search warrants were executed, leading to the discovery of additional evidence at the suspects’ home in Harrison.

Among the evidence were empty power tool boxes and anti-theft devices, with a total loss exceeding $11,747.94 in merchandise.

Both Felan and Cope are now in custody at the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, facing felony theft charges. Cope, who is currently on parole for drug-related offenses, is being held without bond.
