Cold Case Files: Shooting death in Johnson County has baffled investigators for over 22-years

Dale Deane Allison, a 76-year-old resident of the Piney Bay area in Johnson County,, was murdered in 2002 and over 22 years later law enforcement officials are seemingly no closer to arresting they were in the weeks after the murder.

. During the early morning hours of July 19, 2002, one or more intruders entered Allison's residence and shot him. Despite his injuries, Allison left his residence and made contact with a neighbor, who called 911

. Allison was then transported to a Little Rock hospital to receive medical attention but ultimately succumbed to his injuries and passed away on July 22, 2002.

Born on August 24, 1925, in Sheridan, Allinson was the son of Beryl Allinson and Estelle Fouts Allinson. Allinson had a distinguished military career, having served in the Army with the 2520th Army Air Force Bomber Unit as a staff sergeant and tail-gunner on a B-17 aircraft during World War II.

Allinson attended Arkansas Tech University and was a successful real estate agent for a number of years seemingly having transacted quite a bit of business in suburban Little Rock in the 60's and 70's. It's believed he retired to the Piney Bay Community sometime after 1990 although he had no ancestral ties to the area having been born and spending most of his life in central Arkansas.

Allinson was laid to rest in the Lost Creek Cemetery near his birthplace in Sheridan, Grant County,

The Arkansas State Police was requested to assist with the homicide investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Despite their efforts, the case remains unsolved, and authorities continue to seek information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the perpetrators.Call for Information
