Cold Case Files: Sikoan Springs man vanished from Fayetteville's Dickson Street in 2006

Travis Roberson, a 24-year-old man from Siloam Springs, vanished without a trace on the night of February 28, 2006. He was last seen with friends on Dickson Street in Fayetteville, before heading back to his car after telling friends he felt sick.

When his friends returned to the car, Travis was nowhere to be found.

Travis was known to have epilepsy and was involved with drugs. He had also informed his family that he was a witness in a federal narcotics trial, which was set to take place shortly after his disappearance1. His sister, Kesha Roberson, reported him missing to the Siloam Springs police the following day.

Roberson stood 6'1, and weighed 170 pounds at the time of hos disappearance.

He was wearing a blue checkered/plaid button-down shirt, blue jeans, tan New Balance shoes, and a green Corona baseball cap.

Initially, the Siloam Springs Police Department transferred the case to the Fayetteville Police Department, believing the incident occurred in Fayetteville. However, due to miscommunication, both departments thought the other was handling the investigation, leading to a six-year delay in the case.

During this time, crucial evidence and potential witnesses were lost.

Roberson had two warrants out for his arrest at the time of his disappearance: one for failure to pay fines resulting from a forgery conviction, and one for failure to appear in court on charges of being an accomplice to the delivery of drugs.

He was supposed to testify at a federal narcotics trial, and one theory is that he was killed in order to silence him. His disappearance remains unsolved.

In 2012, former news anchor Angela Taylor brought attention to the case, revealing the miscommunication between the two police departments. Her investigation prompted both departments to apologize to Travis's family and reopen the case.

Despite their efforts, the case remains unsolved, and Travis's whereabouts are still unknown.

The Siloam Springs and Fayetteville police departments continue to work together, following up on leads and investigating any new information. The family remains hopeful that one day they will find answers and bring Travis home.
