Dover man jailed for failure to comply with conditions of reporting as a sex offender

A 28-year-old registered sex offender in Pope County was arrested on Wednesday and charged with one count of Failing to Register and Comply with Conditions of Reporting.

According to information from the Pope County Sheriff's Office, Dayton Joe Jackson, of Dover, was booked into the Pope County Detention Center on the single charge at 12: 20 p.m. Wednesday. As of 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, Jackson remained in custody.

According to information obtained from Arkansas Court Connect, Jackson was sentenced to 36 months in prison on March 28th, 2019 after a negotiated plea on a single charge of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree. That conviction came in Yell County for a crime committed on June 17, 2018.

It appears at the same time a revocation order was entered for previous crimes he had committed in 2016 including Residential Burglary and Theft of Property involving a Firearm.

The Yell County sexual assault charges also mandated a Revocation of Suspended Ssentence for the 2016 crimes.

Jackson served time in the Tucker unit of the Arkansas Department of Corrections for both convictions.
