According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, a man from Van Buren died Tuesday night when the motorcycle he was operating collided with another vehicle near the intersection of Jacobs Avenue and Arkansas 271 South.
Around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Anthony T. Bailey, 38, was traveling north on State Highway 271 while operating a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle. A 2015 Honda made an attempt to turn onto Jacobs Avenue while traveling south on the highway.
Bailey was thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the collision with the Honda, police said.
The driver of the Honda was unharmed.
The report states investigating officer Casey Cagle of the Fort Smith Police Department reported the incident occurred in clear, dry conditions.
