Law enforcement officials with the Booneville Police Department officers arrested a registered Sexual Offender from Magazine Wednesday and charged him with Internet Stalking of a Minor, a Class B Felony in the state of Arkansas.

Investigators received information that Jerry Jones, 42, had made arrangements to meet up with a 15-year-old female. During the investigation it was learned that arrangements were in place for sexual activity to take place between Jones and the minor.

Jones, who lives in the 200 block of West Ellington Street in Magazine, is a Level 3 sex offender who was originally convicted of two counts of Attempted Transfer of Obscene Material to a Minor.

At this time Jones is being held without bond until a bond and formal charges are filed. Under Arkansas's laws, the sentence for a Class B felony is five to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000

The Logan County Sheriffs Office assisted in the arrest.
