Man hit Wednesday on Gregg Avenue in Fayetteville dies after transport to local medical facility

Police say a 34-year-old Fayetteville man has died as the result of an accident that occurred Thursday at the intersection of Gregg Avenue and West Village Lake Road in Fayetteville.

According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary report, Jordan Baggett was crossing Gregg Avenue outside of the crosswalk at 6:30 p.m. when he was struck by a northbound 2021 Hionda. The impact knocked Baggett into the southbound lanes of Gregg Avenue where he was run over by a southbound 2013 Ford.

Baggett was transported to the Washington Regional medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Officer Derek Harwood of the Fayetteville Police Department noted clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the accident.
