A Polk County woman is dead as a result of an accident that occurred just after 1:00 p.m. Friday IN Scott County according to the Arkansas State Police.
Officials with the ASP say that a three-car accident that occurred on US Highway 71 in rural Scott County resulted in the death of 68-year-old Judy G. Sickler of Mena
According to a preliminary report issued by that agency, Sickler was southbound on US Highway 71 in a 2020 Kia when she switched lanes into the oncoming path of a northbound 2014 GMC. After the impact the GMC ran off the roadway, but the Kia reentered the southbound lane and was struck by a southbound 2019 ford.
According to information from the ASP ,individuals injured in the accident were transported to UAMS. Sickler's body was held at the Scott County Coroner's office.
According to investigating Trooper Mason E. Redding the weather was clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident..
Sickler's death represents the 492nd fatality across 449 accidents so far this year.
