Police say juvenile running alongside Explorer slipped and fell into path of vehicle back tires

ROGERS, AR – A tragic accident occurred on Sunday, at 8:03 p.m. at the intersection of S 47th Street and W Poplar Street in Rogers, resulting in the death of a minor pedestrian, according to the Rogers Police Department.

The incident involved a 2016 Ford Explorer traveling northbound on S 47th Street. The minor, whose identity has not been released, was running alongside the vehicle when they fell. The rear passenger side of the vehicle ran over the pedestrian, causing fatal injuries.

The accident took place under clear weather conditions on a dry road.

The minor was transported to Mercy Hospital Rogers, where they were pronounced deceased. The body is being held at the Benton County Coroner’s Office, and the next of kin has been notified.

No other injuries were reported, and the driver of the vehicle has not been identified in the report. The incident is under investigation by he Rogers Police Department.
