Russellville man dies from injuries sustained in November 7 accident on US 64 in Pottsville

The Arkansas State Police says an 88-year-old Russellville man died due to injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident that occurred back on November 7 in Pope County. The ASP released the report on Tuesday after the victim died in a Little Rock hospital.


Earl. Newell Mason was the driver of a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country that was stationary at a stoplight in the westbound lane at the intersection of US Highway 64 and State Highway 363. A 1974 Toyoya FJ driven by 45-year-old Christopher Reynolds of London rear-ended the Mason vehicle. with both vehicle proceeding through the intersection and veering off the roadway to the left ditch.


Mason was airlifted to UAMS Little Rock and succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. Reynolds, 42-year-old Billie J. Taylor of London, and two minor children in the Reynold's vehicle were all treated for injuries.


According to investigating officer Gerrard Huggman of the Pottsville Police Department noted clear weather conditions and dry pavement at the time of the accident.
