A Harrison man has died and a 62-year-old Jasper woman was sent to an area hospital after a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday inside the city limits of St Joe in Searcy County.
According to a preliminary accident report released by the Arkansas State Police, a 2005 Hyundai was being driven southbound on US Highway 65 by 34 -year-old Thomas Clay Clark of Harrison at approximately 5:38 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when it crossed the a double yellow line.
The Clark vehicle struck a Northbound 2016 Jeep Wrangler driven by 62-year-old Mary Pollyea of Jasper. The head-on crash resulted in Clark being declared dead at the scene and Pollyea was transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
According to Arkansas State Trooper Nathan L, Holder the roads were dry and the weather conditions were clear at the time of the fatal crash.
