Sixty-two-year-old Waldron woman dies in early Friday morning accident in rural Scott County



The Arkansas State Police have released a preliminary report on an accident that claimed the life of Linda M. Hamm, a 62-year-old resident of Waldron. The incident occurred on Friday morning at approximately 6:30 AM. in rural Scott County.


According to the report, Hamm was driving on westbound on State Highway 248 near Jones Creek Road when the 2014 Chevrolet she was driving veered off the road and struck a tree.


Hamm was pronounced dead from her injuries. and a passenger in her vehicle, 21-year-old Kenneth Grigsby, also of Waldron, was taken to Mercy-Waldron for treatment of unknown injuries.


Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the accident.


Investigating state troop Tim Robinson noted clear weather conditions and a dry roadway at the time of the crash.
