Twenty-five -year-old arrested in connection with "targeted" double homicides in Crawford County

Law enforcement officials announced Saturday the arrest of a 25-year-old Crawford County man in connection with two homicides that occurred Saturday morning and early Saturday afternoon. According to information out of the Crawford County Sheriff's Office, dispatch received a call just before noon Saturday about a shooting that occurred in the 800 block of Chitwood Street in Alma. Upon responding to that call officers found 57-year-old Terry Brausell who had been shot in the head and was deceased. Approximately 10 minutes later another call came into dispatch concerning a shooting in the 800 block of Muscadine Lane outin the ounty. Perry Donald lewis, 47, was found deceased at that location, also with a gunshot wound to the head. Officials immediately started looking for a suspect who was driving a red Nissan pickup truck and located 25-year-old Cooper Wesley north of Van Buren off SH Highway 59 in the Figure Five community. Cooper was taken into custody without incident and was jailed in the Crawford County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. Police say they feel that Cooper targeted the victims specifically and at no time was the public in any sort of danger.
