Three people died Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on US Highway 62 near County Road 902 in rural Carroll County according to the Arkansas State Police.
One driver and two passengers in the vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other individuals, all 19 years old and under, were injured and had to be transported to the North Arkansas Regional Medical center and the Washington Regional Medical Center in Northwest Arkansas.
According to a report from the Arkansas State Police, 18-year-old Caleb Crow of Dallas was driving a 2015 Chevy truck eastbound on US Hghway 62. A 2020 Chevy Equinox driven by Michael Weiss of Cotter was westbound and crossed the center line, impacting the truck head-on.
Weiss and a passenger in his vehicle, 44-year-old Amy Weiss, died at the scene. A passenger in the Crow vehicle, 20-year-old Abby Cox of Fshers Texas was also killed. The Carroll County Coroner's Office pronounced all three dead at the scene. Crow and three under passengers in the Equinox were injured and transported to the Northwest Arkansas hospitals, including 19-year-old Joshua Case of Grapevine Texas, 19-year-old Tiki Braner of Georgetown and 19-year-old Joel Tibbetts of Wake Forest. Traffic on Highway 62 was impacted for over an hour as the State Police worked the accident.
Trooper Jackson R. Little of the ASP said the road was dry and weather conditions were clear at the time of the 9:30 am head-on collision.
